Latino Night was hosted at Benedictine Academy on Saturday May 14. The Spanish Club launched another Latino Night this year, but this time with a Caribbean theme since the last dance was more glam and formal. Patricia Frech, a member of the Spanish Club, says hosting another Latino night “was just for fun” and Sister Lucy agreed. Even though the Spanish Club did not raise as much as they did the last time, Sister Lucy said the money went to pay off the DJ and the rest would go to an organization which will be decided later.

The doors opened at 7 pm and ended at 11 pm.  Upon entering the gym attendees were welcomed at the ticket station where the cost of entry was $10 per person  at the door, $8 pre-order.From the colorful  table cloths to the gym walls that had streamers, everything was decorated to get the sense of the Caribbean, there was also a backdrop of palm trees to let the students take pictures. The Spanish Club made sure to provide food at the dance which consisted of rice, meat, salads, beans and even desserts for anyone who had a sweet tooth and beverages  which was all free and the DJ played music that consisted of bachata, merengue  salsa and reggaeton along with hip hop and pop. Overall, it was fun.
